Our first ever Wedding Fayre on Sunday 30^th October in our new Luxury Boutique Day Spa was a huge success thanks to the House of Beauty team, models and exhibitors. Going by the positive feedback and enthusiasm for the next one, I feel this is sure to become an annual event.

Melanie and the team were perfect hosts, escorting clients new and old around the premises, introducing them to the various exhibitors and giving beauty advice and talking about the many demonstrations that were being performed and the services we provide.

Local talented piper Corrin Halliday performed a number of traditional Scottish tunes outside the Salon, which created a wonderful atmosphere and a real Wedding feel to the event.

The lucky  winner of the competition was Anna Malone who is getting married in October 2012

Hair demonstrations were performed by experienced Wedding Hair Specialist Diane Boa, who created a variety of different styles, accessorizing with beautiful decorative hairpieces that would look perfect for that special day on any bride to be .

Linzi Bell and I created a number of flawless yet natural make ups on models, Kirstie Robinson, Emma Ali, Louise Williams, Gemma Harvey, Chloe Jones, Caitlin Carruthers and Hannah Ali who also modelled dresses supplied by Kim at Freckles Bridal Couture.

Kim was on hand to answer lots of questions  and give advice on  Wedding dress styles and fittings etc and helped to dress our models on the day and make them look absolutely stunning.

Displaying her unique range of Wedding Invitations was Michelle Robson from Shelleys invitations, a simple yet stunning  hand made collection.

Mona Thomson from Gamila Hats had a wonderful arrangement of hats and fascinators on display of different shapes, sizes and colours to suit all ages and styles.

There was a wonderful aroma of fresh flowers throughout the salon too, courtesy of Tulip Mobile florist who is a very talented florist and creates the most amazing Wedding Bouquets.

Jackie McHenry from Tantrum Events and Linda Bell from Sweetheart cakes, transformed our Relaxation Lounge, with a beautifully set table for four in silver and black with matching chair covers. Jackie had certainly thought of everything and her table décor and fantastic array of Wedding favours and balloons throughout the salon certainly caught the attention of everyone on the day.  

With an amazing display of decorated 3 tier Wedding Cakes and intricately decorated cup cakes and some mouth watering cake samples for everyone to taste, Linda Bells cakes went down a treat!

Parked outside the Salon and creating quite a bit of attention was a White Rolls Royce and a huge Pink Hummer- Courtesy of Excalibur Wedding Cars. The Pink hummer is a must have for a fun hen night !!

Slavko and Joyce were available throughout the day to talk about their range of Wedding Cars and arranging transport for the big day and other services they have available.

Ann Halliday , Salon Manager performed Gel Lacquers  – a long lasting flawless nail lacquer, a must for the perfect finish to compliment the Bride and her bridesmaids hands.

Also being performed by Leah Sassoon and Karen Williams were a number of treatment combinations from our new range of Wedding Packages which are now available and have been specifically designed to suit every one involved in the Wedding party .

Taking photographs throughout the day was talented Photographer Lauren Hewby.  Lauren who has a very keen eye for detail very kindly took lots of stunning photographs in and around the Salon and had lots of her work on display for all to see.

Kim and Johanne from Monaghans the Jewelers had a small but stunning collection of Wedding rings and various other pieces on display from their new premises in Bank Street, which boasts a lovely selection of Engagement and Wedding rings and much more.

The Fayre was well attended and all of the  Wedding Suppliers were specifically chosen for their experience, reputation and individual talents. Who collectively, in my opinion will endeavour to make any Wedding day a perfect one.

September 2011: Hayley Robson

Employee of the month goes to Hayley Robson!! We are very proud to have received many excellent comments from our clients on Hayley’s performance of holistic therapies.

Hayley’s firm yet gentle approach will leave you feeling refreshed and revitalized and floating on air for hours after leaving the Salon.

I can confirm this as I had the rare opportunity to experience the pleasure of Hayley’s touch this week when I had a Serenity Massage, which was one of the most wonderful massages I can honestly say I have had.

Hayley’s Serenity Massage eased away all my tension and the faint aroma of the Lavender infused oil, the soft ambient background tunes and cozy warm bed made me feel like I was floating on air. Sheer bliss!

Dr Danné Montague-King’s visit to House of Beauty

It was a glorious sunny day when we were visited by Dr Danné Montague-King last week on his whistle stop tour of the UK , where he was greeted by the excited House of Beauty team and much to his amusement and surprise a traditional Scottish piper Conner Halliday!

Dr King flew in from his Miami clinic to visit his top 5 practising Danné clinics in the UK, House of Beauty being the first of his visits, and still currently holding the title of prestigious Danné clinic of the year.

Dr King gave a very informal but very interesting 30 minute presentation in the lounge to our clients on skin health, revision and  how to achieve fantastic results utilizing the use of the unique Danné concept through professional home care and Salon treatment programs.

Dr King also talked about how his success all started many years ago with his formulation for tired aching muscles, a cryotherapy gel called Biofreeze, a product that many of us are familiar with as it stocks the shelves of many chemists and is used by Practitioners worldwide.

His 40 year research as a biochemist/ scientist into skin health and paramedical skin revision and how the discovery of vitamin c therapy, the radical results which can be achieved through  the use of fruit acids, enzymes and alkaline kept his audience captivated and intrigued.

Dr King also does a little voluntary work and visits trauma clinics worldwide, giving advice to burns victims and offering treatments to aid the healing process.

Dr King has recently developed a new mineral make up range, which contains active ingredients to help with skin nutrition and protection. The range is soon to be launched in the UK and will be available to purchase in the salon.

As Dr King wandered around the salon chatting and giving advice to clients, our Senior Therapists were all demonstrating Danné procedures such as the alkaline hair removal system for the use on superfluous facial hair which leads to permanently reducing the growth, Alkine Medi- Pedi which by far exceeds regular pedicures, and Enzyme Skin tightening and Muscle lifting treatments.  Melanie herself was demonstrating  advanced skin peeling.  Every body was delighted to see how effective all the Danné treatments were, and found it interesting getting feedback from the models who have previously experienced Danné treatments, who have gained fantastic visual results.

A fantastic result all round for all at House of Beauty.
